Did they prescribe anything to help with the depression? I went on Lexapro for about 6 months after my parents, Chopin, and Guinan all died within weeks of each other. It helped. Didn't "fix" anything but it took the edge off enough for me to function. (Probaby should have gotten it after losing John but to be honest, I was too messed up then to even realize I had a problem...)
ANYWAY... some things that might help you based on my experiences...
EXERCISE - even if it's just going for a daily walk (not the sight-seeing kind, put some effort into it) - will help increase the endorphins in your body which will in turn help elevate your mood. I use a Fitbit Inspire3 to track my steps and try to put in at least 7000 steps each day now. (And was barely able to do 2500 when I first started last year....)
If they didn't prescribe anything, check to see if St. John's Wort interacts with any medications you're on. If it doesn't, give it a try. It's been proven to help relieve depression. Saffron is another one that has proven helpful. But again, be sure to make sure it doesn't interact with anything else you're on.
Meditation: At least once a day, preferably in the morning (and more often if needed), sit quietly, eyes closed, relax, and tell yourself "This will be my peaceful day." Repeat it a few times, focusing on PEACE each time. Doing controlled breathing while doing this helps. Any time your thoughts/feelings start to spiral out of control, repeat this process until your mind settles.
And just a few oddities that have no real proof of helping but they have helped me: Sipping a big cup of sweet hot tea with a little cream stirred in, looking at pictures of flowers, very basic yoga breathing.
OH! Another herbal one that might help. According to a nutritionist I talked to, ASHWAGANDHA EXTRACT is supposed to help reduce stress (which often accompanies depression) which helps reduce the amount of Cortisol in your blood (mine was sky high in March) AND helps you sleep better. I take one each morning & 1 each evening and am averaging an hour of sleep more each night that I was before starting to take it! It's made a HUGE difference in my ability to cope with life!
I hope some of these helps you. Depression is an awful feeling. And the tiredness is certainly part of it. (((hugs))) and prayers, my friend!!
