my Mohs surgery is set for next Tuesday. But Steve is the driver and he was just wrecked on his mountain bike while chasing a train. They had ridden to Goshen, Indiana and he saw the train. There was "curb where it shouldn't have been". Did I mention he will be 78 in August? They called an ambulance.
I wish they would have kept him overnight at the hospital. He has 2 fractures, (his 8th rib and a mild one in his neck) 11 stitches in his ear. A concussion from a closed head injury which isn't as serious as it sounds and should heal within 4 to 6 weeks. Lots of bruising. Other stuff in the report ghat I can't remember. But the worst is I think his pride was hurt. He is mad. The bike faired better than he did. Just needs new handlebars. Arrgghh! He could have broken his friggen neck! I was amazinly calm when he called me. We didn't find the paperwork until 9 so didn't get to WM pharmacy for his meds. They put him on antibiotics for his ear, and for pain meds. He has 3 pills from the hospital.
I will be checking on him thoughout the night, and for exteme sleepiness. A few prayers or thoughts will be appreciated. Oh yeah, horribe road rash his face near his ear. Thankfully the helmet protected the head injury from being so much worse. The helmet just had a small crack. Thank you God! They released him after the MRI scan. They said he is one of the tough ones. He is a mountain biker, roller blader and huge train nut. He isn't really in much pain right now but I am sure he will be tomorrow.
Anyway, I will be rescheduling my appt. for Tuesday.
