They were having their house torn down to make way for a new one. She had everything packed up to move out and had it in boxes by the back door. She had to teach a Hunter Ed class Saturday so she told her husband to be sure to move all of that to the storage building. (This is after he didn't help her packup ANYTHING - she did it all herself but ran out of time on the last load.) As she left, she reminded him again to take all those boxes to the storage building.

When she got home Saturday night, the house had been bulldozed. Completely obiterated. As was planned.

This morning, she realized her coffee maker was in the boxes she'd set had him move & went to the storage unit to get it & the other items that were in the box with it. All things they'd need while the new house is being built.

The box wasn't there.

None of the boxes she'd sat by the door were there.

He left them in the house & they were bulldozed down with it.

All of her kitchen ware. All of her JEWELRY. All of her summer clothes. Her champion retriever's $1500 training collar.Everything special that she'd waited to pack at the last minute. It's all gone.

His excuse: "I guess I forgot." Followed by "If it was so important to you, you should have moved them yourself."

She called me in hysterics a few minutes ago.... This woman is TOUGH. She survived a horrendous abusive childhood, two bouts of cancer, and is a nationally known blackpowder trap champion as well as one of the best hunter educators in the state. And her SOB of a husband broke her this morning.

She's on her way to see a lawyer now. This was the last straw. He's hurt her before (not physically but in so many other ways) but this one put her over the edge.

I'm worried for her. He's refused to put her name on any of their property, all their cars are strictly in his name, she has no credit of her own, no insurance of her own... Legally, she owns NOTHING. And she's always relied on him. What's going to happen when/if she files for divorce & he cuts her off?????
