I just found out that Kate & Matt paid for ALL of his mom's funeral. Everything from the funeral home & their services, to the gravesite & headstone, to the memorial dinner after the services. Plus a lift chair & new front porch/ramp before she passed. Well over $25,000 total.

Her husband didn't help. Her other son (who was her golden child) didn't help. Instead the son she threw away as a child & couldn't be bothered to raise so he grew up being tossed from one family member to another got stuck with the entire bill. A bill they didn't have the money to pay, considering they just built a house, are still paying off the NICU bills, and have two young children.

All that makes me so angry for them. Kate & I may not get along but that's just WRONG.

And it hurts because other than Matt coming over to deal with the smoke detector I couldn't reach the other night, I've only seen them ONCE since Christmas in spite of inviting them over repeatedly and practically begging to be able to visit & see my grandkids.
