they took the ferries several times and even charted a van all the way up to Prudhoe Bay. They just crossed the Alaska state line and started roaminmg wherever the notion took them. (Which is what John & I had planned to do after he retired...)

Looks like most of the time, they'd just pull the RV off the side of the road and camp wherever they stopped. There were notations about stopping at actual campgrounds so they could get a bath "every week or two because they needed to wash their hair".... Ewwwwww! I know Elfreeda bragged once that she wore the same denim jumper EVERY DAY for over a month, saying she wore a shirt & underwear underneath it so it wasn't touching enough of her to get dirty. Ewwwww! Ewwwww! Ewwwww!
