HAH! Just as I turned into the turn lane for Lowes, there was a big POP followed by whoppety whoppety whoppety. Yep. My front left tire blew out... Less than 18 months old & only 6000 miles & it blew out.
I managed to get off the road & into the parking lot, dug out my insurance card & called for road assistance. Priceless to have but sure hope you aren't in a hurry... An hour later, a couple of guys showed up in an SUV to change my tire. Did I mention that it was COLD and the wind was HOWLING???
Got the microwave (which barely fit in the back end since it had to share space with a full size tire) and limped back to L'burg on a donut. Stopped at the tire place I use and left the tire and limped on back to the house. Not sure yet how I'll get to T's for dinner on Friday. I'm not about to hit the interstate on a donut & not sure the Outback would get me there & back....
Came on home, pulled into the drive, and Freddie couldn't stand up. Back right leg. Got him into the house & started calling vets. No go. Everyone is closed until at least Friday. He finally started walking on it but he's moving slow & is obviously hurting. Won't let me examine it - he gets snappy. Only tiem he's ever gotten snappy with me if that tells you anything!
And in the midst of trying to call vets, I got a text message that Matt's mom is BAD. Like they've called in the family to the hospital. Sepsis.
I've been stomping around house, alternately crying because I miss John so bad & cussing him for leaving me alone to deal with all this crap. I think this is going to be one of those rare occasions where I allow myself a good slug of bourbon...
