But here in central KY, we had this:
I stayed up until after 11 watching them. Then something woke me up around 1am and there were lights flickering all around my bedroom. I thought the auroras had gone NUTS and flung open the window.... and saw nothing but flames!!!!
I immediately called 911 to report it (it hadn't been reported yet) and ran out on my deck where you could actually feel the heat from the flames....
I odn't know if the link will work or not but give it a try:
OH SH**
My pics didn't come out too good because I was FREAKING OUT so I swiped this one from the news:
Remember, the neighbor from hell who I had arrested (and who thankfully later managed to kill himself)? His house burned down. Beautiful 2 story log cabin.
And if that wasn't bad enough, the flames spread into the cedar thicket between his house and my property line... Cedars were going up like torches at one point & flames were over 100' high.
And the dogs were going crazy because EMS was staging ambulances in my driveway in case there were any injuries. (The fire was big enough that they called in crews from a neighboring county to help fight it.)
I was up until well after 3am when the flames had been knocked down enough for me to assume my house/propert was safe. After I got up, there was a LOT of smoke still rising & shortly thereafter the fire department came back out to put it out again. A friend in fire says log cabins can take days to full extinguish due to the thickness of the logs....
So.... How was your evening????? :-)
