You took the time to locate his owner. Most people would just chase him off. I think as long as we all have had dogs, we KNOW what can happen. My kids have their names and my number on their tag. Now having English Bulldogs, people think they are not fixed. We made sure 1) they are chipped 2) my vet know my dogs and they have the chip number and 3) my neighbors know my dogs because they are bad in the summer, they would go "visit". We have been blessed by the patience of our neighbors. They truly spoiled. Why leave? LOL!!
