Y'all. I need a break. Seriously. I've run NON STOP this whole week....
Monday, had ladies night at the club. Back in the pistol pits. Did good the 1st two rounds & got cocky. Couldn't hit the broadside of a barn the last round. :-( Need to get out and practice before we get together again.
Tuesday, we had 3.5" of rain and the frickin' basement flooded (BAD) again.... I cried. Y'all I just sat down & cried. Approx $50,000 and my house torn all to hell and the damn thing still flooded. Then I hauled myself up and ran the shop vac for the next 4 hours....
Wednesday, worked memebership registration at the club. Processed 50 applications & "only" had to hold 6 back because people either didn't send the correct forms or filled them out wrong. Just around 500 more to go... Got home and met with the contractor who was supposed to have fixed the basement. He confirmed that they will come back & fix it but they can't until we can pinpoint exactly where it's coming in & I couldn't tell because it was under/behind the washer/dryer and the platform they're sitting on... I'm getting T & Matt to move them out of the way this weekend so when it happens again, I can see and film exactly what's happening.
Thursday, I was in the kitchen all day. Gingernsaps. Snickerdoodles. Cocoa crispie treats. And a huge triple batch of white chicken chili. Oh and cornbread too. Hauled it all to the club for the evening meal & meeting.
Then got home last night & couldn't sleep. I was in the shower at 3am hoping that might help.
It didn't.
So it's now 9:30am, I'm caffeinated up to try to stay functioning because apparently T & Meg are coming in this weekend and the house is a disaster that I've got to get cleaned up...
Oh and on top of everything else, the low fat/low sugar/low carb diet continues. I have NO energy whatsoever and feel perpetually wiped out. But I'm doing morning finger sticks to check blood glucose and my morning numbers are coming down so that's hopeful. (Did I mention that I FRICKIN' HATE NEEDLES?????????)
Something I didn't know, if you go without eating for too long, your LIVER starts releasing glucose and can flood your bloodstream with it which contributes to insulin resistance. So... I'm trying to incorporate a small snack around bedtime into my routine (been using pork rinds & hummus) and it seems to be helping.
Anyway, the Burgoo Festival is here this weekend & there are concerts I'd like to go to tonight & tomorrow night as well as a medieval fantasy fair & vendors' market on Sunday. We'll see if I actually make it to any of it....
