Wednesday morning, they delivered the washer/dryer combo & Freddie got too excited and attacked Sebastian and it was game on. You've never seen a couple of delivery guys exit a yard so quickly. I'd have loved to have had a recording of their running commentary while I tried to get Freddie off of Sebastian... It was a helluva brawl but I got them apart without getting hurt myself and without either of them having any serious-enough-to-go-to-the-vet injuries. I bet those guys are still talking about us....
An hour or so later, my bro & his wife made it here. We sat around a bit & then headed to the first yard sale site (this one in town at the Legion park). It was blisteringly hot & I bet we walked to & dug through 75 to 100 booths.
Staggered back to the house & cooled off before going back to town for a NICE dinner out a local restaurant. It didn't used to be that good but our food & service that night was absolutely AMAZING.
Thursday, we were up early and hit the 127 Sale trail. Started out at the main Eagle Lake site, then to the site by the peddler's mall at Eagle Lake, then across the road to the new large site where a permanent yard sale will be setting up starting next month. Hit a few small yard sales along the way & then headed up towards Frankfort to what used to be a HUGE site near the county line. It only had a few vendors this year. I don't know what's happened to it.
Then we headed back to the South, hit a few more individual sales, and then dropped into the big HUGE chicken-swap area where I'm estimating there were at least 100 vendors, probably more. By then it was HOT HOT HOT HOT HOT and we WALKED AND WALKED AND WALKED AND WALKED. I wasn't sure we were gonna make it back to the car before one of us keeled over... but we did. And that was THAT!
We headed back to the house & cool down and rest and take pain meds...
After we recovered, we headed back to town & I treated them to dinner at my favorite Mexican restaurant. Invited Kate & Matt and family to join us but was informed that Hayden was too young to be taken to a restaurant. (Huh?????????) Oh well, I was going to treat them wsa well but their loss.
We sat up talking until late last night & were back up early again this morning so Bub & K could head back home. They hope to get everythign done there this evening & head to their lake house in Tennessee in the morning.
We had such a good time that I'm supposed to look into a riverboat KY River history tour combined with a Buffalo Trace tour & tasting for this fall. Gonna try to do that one day & then tour another distillery or two the next. Plans are also being made for me to join them at the lake house next spring so Bub can take me out for the spring striper run. It's nothing to catch 20-50 lb fish during the run....
And now I'm cleaning the house back up & getting the guest room freshened back up because there's a good chance that T & Meg will come in tomorrow morning to work on the camper some more (assuming all goes well with his flight back from Houston today).
Hopefully I'll find time for a nap & to get my feet up sometime later today. My right ankle is puffed out to the side like a big ol' warped cantaloupe where I damaged the tendons there so many years ago. It ain't happy & it HURTS!!!!
So this weekend, I'll be finishing up my part of the basement & first thing Monday, the contractors will be here to start tearing everything apart, moving utility lines, etc. UGH!!!!!!
