Based on what I found when looking up reciprocity agreements with DC, any gun brought into DC has to be registered with the police department. (Stupid rule, IMO! Most gun owners would just take their chances.... and anyone planning to do bad things would laugh!)

But if they questioned him about "carrying" and he told them about the gun, that **could** be the grounds for the arrest. And, if so, I sure hope he's a member of either the NRA or the Gun Owners of America. (I know the NRA will provide legal assistance and I **think** GOA does as well but I'm not sure.)

Likewise, I wonder if there is some national registery of people who have state-issued CCDW permits that they run checks thru and his hame came up. Otherwise why would they ahve asked if he was carrying????? (I have my permit but this is making me reconsider renewing it the next time it comes up for renewal....)
