It's a Glock Shooting Sports Foundation regional competition ("The Bourbon Country Classic"). Easily the biggest event our club hosts each year. First year, we had about 250 shooters. 2nd year over 400. And soemone said almost 500 had pre-registered already for this year & you always have a lot show up at the last minute.
I'll go back out Saturday morning to help get everything boxed up and ready to hand out to the volunteers. And probably again on Sunday as well.
I hope the Junior ROTC kids from Northern KY come again this year. We're talking elementary school age kids. And they give me hope that our country isn't doomed. Hardest workers you ever saw. They do everything with military precision. Everything is "Yes, sir!" They don't complain even in the nastiest weather. They do anything they're asked to do. And when they're not working, they stand or sit politely and wait for another task to be given. It's unreal. And they're HAPPY doing it! They're all smiles the entire time!!!! We usually invite them back for a full meal afterwards AND make a substantial donation to their club for their assistance.
