The good news though is that the basement stayed dry!!!! I don't trust it yet - it'll take a few more downpours before I'll believe that the leakage is taken care of - but I'm at least hopeful....
I've gotta be sure about that before I can launch the next step of stabilizing the basement wall. If there's no leak, there's a less expensive fix. If it's still leaking.... the whole thing has to be ripped out & replaced.
In the meantime, I'm getting the driveway patched back up & sealed (waiting on a 2nd estimate there) and talking to a pest control company about getting the carpenter bees out of the garage AND treating the house for ants/spiders/etc.
I'm debating which project to attack next (while I wait): the leakign garage roof & rotted door, sealing in the deck/replacing the flooring which is starting to fail in a few places where it wasn't installed correctly, or moving the washer & dryer up into my office closet.
I had hoped to hold on the first 2 until I knew what the whole basement debacle was going to cost but I don't know that they can wait that long.....
