Maybe we can get more people coming to the meetings if we keep bribing them with food... .lol!
Spending the afternoon with my archery team ladies. (No, none of us actually shoots bows - we just bonded while our kids were on the high school team together.) It's been close to a year since we managed to get a ladies day. I was dealing with John. "D" has been taking care of a new grandbaby. And "H" splits her living between here and Florida. Makes it tough!
Tomorrow, I'm running new member orientation at the club. I'll be handling the check in, paperwork, and presentation of membership cards/keys while some of the guys do the range orientations. We're doing half the group tomorrow & the other half next weekend. It should make for an interesting day! (The lady who normally handles all of this is competing in the National Muzzleloading Sporting Clays competition both weekends so I volunteered to fill in.)
And then the weekend after that (the 21st), I'll be working the kitchen at a Bourbon Country Classic Glock Sports Shooting Foundation competition. Last I heard, there were over 200 shooters registered...
And then the next weekend I'll be in EKY for the 4th!
And then we're back around to food prep for the next club meeting!
I keep tellng myself that being busy is a good thing.... And it is. It doesn't let me sit & brood & cry AND it makes me get my butt out of bed (which is really hard some days due to depression/grief).
(Oh and somewhere in the next few weeks, the ladies I had lunch with Wednesday and I are going to try to road trip down into far SE Kentucky to see an old friend who's days on Earth are numbered. He's not doing well. Needs a heart transplant to survive but is so sick they won't allow him on a transplant list...)
