Finally have John's pension with the state going smoothly, incl my health insurance. All of the life insurance policies have been tracked down & cashed in. Our lawyer is working on getting John's "unused leave" check cashed for me without having to set up an estate account. Citibank screwed me over on his pension thru them (their survivor's benefit is less than half of what it would have been if he'd retired instead of dying) but everything is well on the way to getting that under way.

And now... the one I've dreaded most....

I meet with Social Security tomorrow morning.

p.s. Contractors finished putting up the new gutters on the front of the house today. They're a lot bigger than the old ones so should help with that part of the water issue (even tho that's only maybe 25% of the problem - it's still 25% that has been resolved). And I talked to the guy who's going to do dig the water diversion "swales" and told him to go on & put me on the schedule ASAP. Fingers crossed that he can get to me before we have another downpour! And cross a few more that the swales work & we don't have to dig out the front of the house!
