Bad enough that they were evacuating people by boat - that's never happened here before. Before it was always, stay at your own risk, we'll see ya when the water goes down.
Water was cut off yesterday but should be back on later this afternoon as the pumping stations were under water. (I needed a shower LAST night so I'm really looking forward to the "all clear" being given!!!)
Frankfort was hit even worse & I can't imagine how bad it's going to be for cities farhter downstream.
The rain caused enough draining that the front wall of the basement is bowing inward. Major structural issue. One contractor refused the job - said it was more than he could handle. Have two more coming out ths week. Pray one of them can/will take the job. It involves jacking up ths end of the house, tearing out the bowed wall entirely, and rebuilding it. Then digging all the way down to the footers across the whole front of the house & sealing the wall and putting in gravel & drain tile. Oh and they'll probably have to rip the front porch off in order to do that.... JUST SHOOT ME.
Kate's baby shower was Saturday. It went okay. Very bittersweet. John should have been there....
Grief sucks. I'll be "okay"ish and then some little something leaves me bawling like a baby when I least expect it.
The battle with state government over John's pension, insurance, and unpaid leave payout continues. THIS SHOULD NOT BE SO CONVOLUTED! And people who keep giving out wrong information shoud be FIRED! I'm startig to think Elon Musk needs to come to Kentucky!!!!!
Oh and I think I'm coming down with something. Very sore throat. Low grade fever & just generally feel yucky. Fun, huh? Espec with no health insurance...
