I checked all the dogs thinking someone had a cut or maybe Willow bit her tongue when I threw a treat to her, but couldn't find anything. The next morning, Zak was on his back on the couch and I saw some faint blood smears - a little on his chest, around his penis and on the inside of a back leg. Just very small amounts, like he brushed against something with blood on it. So, I figured I'd better take a urine sample in for urinalysis.

When any of my girls had a UTI, I could tell because they would lick themselves a lot and pee more frequently and a lot of the time hardly any pee came out.

If my dog started trying to cover up his pee, I would probably take in a urine sample just in case. Could be something, could be nothing. But, I always like to find out.
