HOWEVER... The Rustic Rooster secondary building (my dad's old store building, where they do a lot of their bigger, more commercial, work) may be in danger from a landslide. Part of the mountain a few hundred yards from it has started slipping. It's already impacting the road and has the potential to bring down 2 houses and the road - and depending on where it goes, it could possibly reach all the way to the old store.
The owners of the houses are contacting every emergency service they can think of to try to get help to save their homes (and the road, etc.) but the last I heard, they were basically told that they were out of luck....
You can see my dad's old store (across the road - now painted yellow) in this pic taken from the school ground. Also if you look close up to the left, you can see where the mountain was already starting to slip.
The grade school I attended (named after my Great Aunt & actually built on my grandmother's homeplace - when I went there, the school library & band room were actually in her old farmhouse):
You can see a bridge in the center of the pic below if you look close. That's the only acess for the school, my family's homes, and the old Kona coal camp. Shortly after this, my brother says the water went completley over it, cutting them off until the water levels dropped again.
