We used to always buy (or stream) new movies & eat junk food for "date nights" so I picked up the new Wicked movie & tossed a cheap pizza in the oven Saturday.

WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT!!!!

a) It's only part 1 of a 2 part story.

b) Neither of us could understand a word Ariana Grande/Galinda said, especially when she was "singing." We even tried stopped & replaying and couldn't understand her.

c) The choreography was really really lame.

d) The singing/lyrics were confusing. It was hard to tell when they were talking or supposed to be singing.

e) The story seemed very much like a "musical" version of Disney's Maleficent (ie: "She was such a good girl but bad people made her turn into a wicked witch.") Just BLAH!!!!!!

I'd really been looking forward to seeing Wicked but... it just wasn't very good. :-(

On the positive side, Austin Brown released a version of "Defying Gravity" (the big song from the movie) and it's BEAUTIFUL!!!!!
