We had several shows that were GREAT from teh floor - including one year in the 2nd row & another in the 3rd - AMAZING!!!!!
But the last time we got floor seats, they should have been the best yet... 7th row, dead center. And The Not-so-jolly-green-giant-arsehole was right in front of me. Easily as tall as hubby (6'4"), stood the entire show, AND holding an enormous laptop size ipad over his head the entire time. Hubby NICELY said something to him that folks behind him weren't being able to see, and was loudly told to "f*** off." The guy had teenage boys with him who were obviously embarrassed & tried to sit down but he jumped all over them & forced them to stand up to.
That was it. I'll never buy floor seats again.
So.... Did ya kinda like the show?
I know I've talked about it over & over again but you just can't appreciate it the intensity until you've experienced it. The sound. The energy. The lasers. The FIRE. And that's not even mentioning the amazingly talented band!!!
And what you saw is only ONE HALF of the TSO machine! There are two bands - you saw the Eastern group, there's another that tours the Southern & Western parts of the US. And they're VASTLY different performances....
The East group that you saw is all about the ENERGY! Chris Caffery is yelling to get everyone on their feet. Joel Hoekstra is striking "guitar God" poses. And, OMG, they have ZAK STEVENS singing!!!!
The West group is all about the music. Much more sedate & technically better musically (but nowhere near as much fun). That said, I'd still go see them again in a heartbeat. Jeff Scott Soto gives Russell Allan a run for his money vocally and Al Pitrelli is as good as Joel Hoekstra (but not as dramatic).Ditto for Anna Phoeba on violin vs. Roddy Chong who you saw.
Anyway, it's good to know you had fun. You need to make this a Christmas tradition now (but at a different venue)!!!
