I don't know how to stop it.

He's got it in his warped little pea brain that he's got to protect us from Sebastian. We started noticing it when we got back from Houston & John started getting noticably sicker. And as he got sicker from the reactions, it escalated.

Now we hope that the reactions are starting to stabilize but the behaviour is already set.

He'll try to shove Sebastian away & at first we thought it was "simple" jealousy but then we realized that Sebastian was inadvertently triggering it with his normal behaviours.

He's a talker & a grumbler. Almost as bad as a husky. lol. He barks, whines, growls, and generally just talks a LOT! And historically when FReddie would get too obnoxious, Sebastian would growl or bark & tell him to BACK OFF.

All 3 of the attacks have happened when Sebastian was either telling Freddie to back off or barking at the Amazon guy IN CLOSE PROXIMITY TO US. First was literally under John's feet in the bathroom. Sebastian growled, Freddie attacked. Second was under the kitchen table again under John's feet, Sebastian grumbled and Freddie attacked. And now the protection thing has spread to me. Yesterday I was at the gate getting an Amazon package & Sebastian was right beside me giving the delivery person what for... and Freddie attacked.

I don't know how to stop this. And I don't know how to turn Freddie OFF once that switch gets thrown to the ON position. It's like he loses his freakin' mind and goes into berzerker "must kill" mode.

I'm thinking about getting pepper spray again so if I have to break them up again I can give him a good face full of it.... Thing is I'd have to carry it with me 24/7 because you never know when he's going to trip out...

I don't know. Logic is telling me to contact the rescue and see if they can rehome him (but that's complicated too because the rescue is pretty much defunct at this point after overextending themselves a couple of years ago with a new facility, etc.

And at the same time, HE'S JOHN'S DOG. His emotional support animal if you will. How could I do that to John????

It just sucks.
