The article makes it sound like we are breeding service dogs. Not entirely true. Service dogs can be from any breed, its mostly about the training. And yes, there will be testing in early years to determine if their is an affinity to the personality required for a service dog.

Yes, as the general population is expecting/training our preferred characteristics, dogs overall will be changing.

I read an article once, many many years ago, that said that if we want to see the future of health in people we needs to look to dogs. As there are several generations of dogs happen within one generation of people we can see the changes and see our future. I believe it. Our future is not pretty. The incidence of cancer and health issues in dogs has multiplied several times over in the years, That has to be because of environmental issues and food. I think it is something that should be paid attention to.

And if PETA gets their way - no body will own any kind of pet/animal.
