Chemo doesn't always work & some radiologists are idiots.

MD Anderson originally started John on a chemo/immunotherapy protocol that was guaranteed to knock his cancer down & out. It didn't. In fact, it had the exact opposite effect & kicked it into overdrive.

And the radiologist AND oncologist at the Univ of KY not only completely missed the fact that the cancer had spread to his spine, ribs & hips but they completely missed the fact that it had caused a rib to break. HOW THE HECK DOES A SO-CALLED PROFESSIONAL MISS A BROKEN BONE ON BOTH X-RAYS AND CT SCANS??? Dr. Tannir at MDA showed us the scans & even our untrained eyes could clearly see it....

So... it doesn't help Linda any but her situation isn't exactly surprising.

Thank goodness the brain fog has lifted. That's scary stuff. Hope it stays away!!!!

(Oh I forgot... Matt's mother had breast cancer a few years ago. Surgery + chemo. Was told it was all gone, that they caught it early, yadda yadda yadda. 6 months later, she was having horrible headaches. It had spread to her brain. Surgery again + radiation + chemo & has been told again that it's all gone, no more worries. But is it? After all, that's what she was told before as well...)
