The guys on the Kentucky hunting board know about hubby's struggles. One of them had asked if we were gonna be able to hunt this year. I told him it wasn't likely - that we plan to try but that John just doesn't have the energy now. Saturday, he messaged me & asked if we wanted a deer or two. Of course I said yes and that night I got a text saying "WE GOTCHA ONE!" We met him up at Frankfort & brought home a big ol' slickhead. We got her skinned & quartered in the frig after midnight & got her all cut up & ground on Sunday, just doing a little at a time as John had energy. We'll finish up with packaging tonight...

When we were leaving with her Saturday night, my friend's last words to us were "Save room for more! I've got lot of hunting still to do!" He plans to get us at least one more, and more if we need them. (He has a list of folks he's planning to help out but says he's gonna "take care of" us first. Love his heart!)
