Yes, it tastes as good as it look! Light & fluffy too!
I was all excited & decided to try my hand at making sourdough English muffins. I mean, they don't even bake so it shoudl be easy to do.
Ha!!!!!
They're about as heavy as hockey pucks & about as dense! They didn't puff up at all! (I was too embarrassed by them to even take pics!)
Started trying to troubleshoot what happened and realized my starter wasn't growing the way it should have yesterday after feeding.... Fed it again & set it out on the deck (80+ degrees) in hopes of kick starting it. Got a few bubbles going but no growth. Left it overnight & this morning... Nothing. Dead as a doornail. Grrrrr!!!!
So I pulled some of the discard I had in the 'frig & am trying to restart it. We'll see what happens. Gonna be ticked if I have to start from complete scratch again.
** I have a guestimate as to what happened. It has to do with measurements via cups vs. weights and making sure the starter doesn't starve. John disagrees but I told him "hands off" and I'm trying it my way this time because his obviously didn't work! (I had to fight him to even get him to discard in the 1st place...)
