Looks like Mt. St. Helens will have to wait for another trip - they're heading on up the coast today before turning back towards Portland tonight to fly homeward EARLY tomorrow morning (as in I thikn they have to be at the airport around 5am...)
As for us, we're not doin' much. John just doesn't have the energy.... I'm getting prepped to cook my contributions to Family Fun Day this coming weekend. Hope all the kids are coming but no one has said... Oh well, if they don't, there are plenty of folks at the club who like my cookin'! I'm planning to fix a humongous deli-size tray of fried rice as a side to go with the meat that's provided by the club along with a snowball cake (torn up chunks of angel food cake with orange jello, crushed pineapple, cocunut, and cool whip) for dessert. And I ***may*** depending on time throw together a big bucket of potato salad for the crew that hangs aroudn late, eats leftovers for dinner (or tosses hot dogs on the grill), and shoots off fireworks.
It's sad. For a club with 450 FAMILIES as members, only maybe 60-75 people come to Family Fun Day and that's counting the guests that folks bring with them. By the time we get to the fireworks, there's usually only 15-20 of us left....
