i saw your weather on tv

I have lost how many times this summer our crazy weather has wound up on the network news, cable news channels, even international news websites. All the usual places flooded. We're lucky the neighborhood sewer pipes were all replaced in 1999 so we don't have to worry, plus we're on a gentle slope. OTOH, I have friends living in another part of town who are having problems now with water getting into their basement. Friends of my sister's have a sump pump in their basement. They're in a hilly neighborhood but the heavy rain water seeps into some part of the basement so the sump pump is a must for them. I saw Westport in southwestern Connecticut had bad flooding in their downtown area and are in clean up mode today. Back in the days when we used to do day trips to Connecticut we used to go to Westport and nearby Norwalk frequently. It's a shame Westport had a problem, very much a rarity for them.

It was sunny today and just got up into the upper 70s. Nice weather for the turtle to spend time on the front porch. I waited for my small Amazon order to arrive later this afternoon since I ordered new rubber tips for my cane. The tip on it was the original from when I bought my cane three years ago and was worn down unevenly. It was a bit of a challenge getting through old tip off to put the new one on.

Afterwards I walked down to Walgreens for my refills. It was a nice day out for a walk. I've been taking care of odds and ends around the house and need to decide on a late dinner to eat while I watch Antiques Roadshow.

Tonight it was go down into the mid 50s so I will need to shut all the windows. Tomorrow it will be sunny but only get up into the lower 70s. Definitely a fall feel, but it will rebound back into the low 80s for several days afterwards.

The loose blood from the blood vessels that were affected by the surgery has pooled due to gravity. It's like having a vein pop when you get blood drawn and you get a big blue bruise show up on that arm a day or two later. It should fade off as you body reabsorbs it.
