It's heading up to the mid 80s, clouds with occasional peeks of sun and a little hazy from some of the Canadian wildfire smoke, humid of course. Unfortunately it will stay more humid all week. Yesterday's rain showers didn't quit completely until the afternoon. I didn't go to the laundromat. Originally they thought today would be completely dry, but nope. We had on and off showers this morning. I woke up to it raining. I will have to keep an eye on the doppler radar to see if more showers are going to head this way later this afternoon and if they are I will have to wait until tomorrow to do the laundry. Tomorrow will be the only rainshowers-free day until next Sunday.


My friends and I had a text message conversation last night. My one friend's mother is still having a rough time of it healthwise. Not good news to hear. She had been steadily improving until she suddenly wasn't. Fortunately my friend works in an administrative position and can take a leave of absence to stay with her mom. The rest of us will still get together on Saturday for lunch, but it puts a bit of a damper on things with the sad news.

Hopefully the late week rainshowers won't be too heavy because I will need to set up a Stop and Shop supermarket delivery by then. I'm getting low on Nigel's canned cat food, milk and a few other things for me, plus I should just order a bakery dessert item from them to take on Saturday, keep it simple. A few of the Whole Foods desserts for delivery are reasonably priced but others are rather expensive. I don't want to spend $30+ on a get-together luncheon cake!

Today the yard waste pails go out to the curb later, maybe I will get the laundry washed if the weather cooperates, just the usual housework and maybe spending some time working on my crochet projects.
