My lung function test was very uncomfortable. The air in the building was dry, and the oxygen in the lung test machine was dry. I have chronic dry mouth so the oxygen in the machine made my mouth and throat extremely dry like my mouth was stuffed with cotton. I was having a hard time swallowing. Not fun. Taking a few sips of water didn't help. The dry air aggravated my dry eye situation and made them burn so I had to use my artificial tears twice while I was there. They need to adjust their HVAC system.
Unfortunately my pulmonologist is still pushing the Air Supra inhaler. It has Budesonide in it in addition to the regular Albuterol. I have concerns about the Budesonide. My mom was on that for two years for her asthma until it backfired on her and gave her a tight chest with breathing problems. I had to give her extra Albuterol nebulizer treatments, call her doctor who had me call 911 so the EMTS could check her lung sounds, blood pressure and heart rate to make sure things weren't too far out of whack. Fortunately they weren't so she didn't have to go to the ER for that incident but was forced to tough out having chest tightness until the Budesonide wore off. There are warnings with the packaging about this potential problem and several others like, raising heart rate and blood pressure, lowering your immune system making you more vulnerable to picking up infections like the cold and flu. He was completely downplaying my concerns. I don't need my inhaler very often so I don't even understand why I can't keep just using my regular Albuterol inhaler.
I've had pasta with marinara sauce for dinner, am watching Jeopardy and am thinking about placing a supermarket delivery order for tomorrow since it will rain Wednesday and Thursday, I also have my knee appointment Thursday and have my PT assessment scheduled for Friday afternoon. It's either have a delivery tomorrow or wait until Saturday.
