It's mostly cloudy with the occasional peek of sun. It's about 80 degrees but with a front coming through it won't really get much hotter. No 90 degrees day today. The humidity went up yesterday and hasn't gone back down yet. There are stray showers around, currently very hit or miss with nothing here yet. I'll water again later. Our variegated vinca vines finally have their periwinkle flowers growing. It was slow going for them this spring. No roses in bloom yet. The bleeding hearts are open but the plants grew shorter in height this year. A long moderate drought plus rougher winter certainly had a negative impact on our plants. Hopefully the lilacs will be blooming soon. I don't water the grass so it's growing very slowly, doesn't need mowing yet. The only people on my street mowing their lawns have sprinkler systems. We haven't had proper rain since earlier last month, just a couple of short very light showers or drizzle occasionally in recent weeks. After all the school dismissal traffic is gone later I will head down to the laundromat if it's not showering. It's going to be downright cold at night early next week. It could go down to the freezing mark for a night or two. So I am putting off packing away my winter coats for the season. We'll have rain showers on Sunday but well up into NY State and parts of New England they'll get some snow Sunday night. I haven't heard any roadwork sounds in the neighborhood today. I'm guessing they'll return next Wednesday and Thursday to pave our backyard neighbors' street and the following two parallel residential streets north of them.
