It's sunny, in the low 80s now but will likely wind up reaching 90 degrees later in the afternoon, which is what happened yesterday afternoon. No rain here yesterday, just a few light showers south of us later yesterday evening. No rain expected today, so I am still hand watering the outdoor plants. The grass isn't growing very much, not tall enough to need mowing but I need to take scissors to trim the tops of the cluster of wild onion on the front lawn which is tall and a bit scraggly looking. It's funny how wild onion still grows tall even with little rain. Maybe we'll get a shower or two tomorrow with a front coming through, but it currently sounds like no definite chance for showers until Sunday. I saw a small cluster of African violets popped open a bit south of their usual spot on the lawn closer to the front porch steps. The usual spot just has a couple of tiny leaves growing at this point. No violets yet on the strip of grass between the sidewalk and front curb. We usually get a scattering of them there as well. I can hear the road repaving crew working on another nearby street. As far as I know they're supposed to finish paving the parallel streets just south of us today. I'm guessing they'll pave the ones north of us tomorrow, or it could be the middle of next week. I'll go to the laundromat tomorrow afternoon instead of today. It should be a little cooler tomorrow, low to mid 80s instead of 90 degrees, and there is no rush. I want to do a few spring cleaning and reorganizing tasks this afternoon instead.
