It's on the overcast side. It was in the mid 30s this morning. We're heading up to the low 50s later this afternoon. Later yesterday afternoon the wind picked up again but it wasn't too bad while I was outside getting more small branches and twigs pailed and put out to the curb for the yard waste pickup. I'm not sure why we're having mornings with no wind but gusts later in the afternoons. There was no front coming through yesterday. No storms north or south of here. It won't rain again until tomorrow evening.
They're supposed to repave the streets here soon. This is the final stage of the project where they dug trenches in the neighborhood roads in the summer and fall of 2024 to install new water and gas line piping. On our street it was just new gas line piping since our street water pipes are newer, aren't made with lead joinings that needed replacement. Our gas and electric company has been in charge of this whole project so they sent us a letter earlier this month about this. So far they have no street parking from 7 am to 5 pm signs around the corner from us on the smaller tertiary street that only is one block long but no work has been done yet with repaving in our neighborhood. The streets were last repaved in the summer of 1999 when they replaced the water pipes, sewer lines, and redid our sidewalks with federal money set aside for residential streets and sidewalks upgrades.
I tested out those addi knitting needles yesterday. They are very easy to hold with no strain on my arthritic hands and fingers. They are sturdy, very lightweight and the stitches slide off the raised ergonomic stripes easily. The only difference is this is one of the knitting needles brands where the pointy tips are longer and sharper so that's an adjustment. You see the longer super pointy tips with various international brands of knitting needles, not so much for American brands. I like these needles. I'm glad I bought them. Circular needles can come in handy for wider knitting projects. Since addi doesn't make these in long straight needles, I will have to try out a different brand's square long straight needles, but those don't have the secondary ergonomic striping. I ordered an ergonomic inline aluminum 7mm crochet hook from a different brand on Amazon and it should arrive on Friday.
I should clean the plexiglass windows on our front storm door later. The last time I cleaned them was before winter started. It is noticable they need cleaning when I look through them at my springtime kittycat door decoration hanging from the inner wooden door.
I too watched that new episode of Call the Midwife. The storyline with the parents who had a bunch of kids and were abusing and neglecting them while thinking their behavior was normal was awful. It was too much considering they had that other storyline about the woman with the premature baby in the NICU unit who was heartbroken and frightened over her baby being a premie.
Since I have the orthopedist appointment Friday I have to decide if I want a supermarket delivery tomorrow or Saturday. I haven't made up my mind yet. I should check the store website to see what is currently on sale. Their sale weeks run Friday through Thursday. Their Nature's Promise organic leafy greens salad mix was very tasty. I definitely need to order more of that.
