Other areas got far worse. There were multiple tornado warnings in South Jersey last night. There was a tornado touchdown in Delaware last night. Yesterday afternoon there was a funnel cloud over a busy highway in Maryland that fortunately didn't touch down. My sister who works in DC got sent home from work with her work laptop computer yesterday morning a couple of hours after she arrived, to telework from home for the afternoon because of the tornado risk. All the offices got shut down early yesterday for safety sake.
It's windy and chilly, but the sun is out. Tomorrow is the first yard waste collection of the season. I have some branches already in pails to go out later with all these recent storms with high winds. There are other branches and twigs around the property but they can wait to be gathered up since it's a bit cold out especially since I am still dealing with this autoimmune flare up and am stiff, achy and feel run down.
I did start a new mystery novel yesterday afternoon. I'm taking it easy and take cat naps when I need to. Unfortunately post-viral infection autoimmune flares can last between a couple of weeks and a couple of months. The temperatures swinging back below normal again does not help. It should be in the 50s during the day and in the 30s at night. It will get back up to 50 later this week for a day or two than go below normal again into early next week.
At least the spring equinox is on Friday and we have a bunch of crocuses out in the front yard I snapped pictures of yesterday afternoon during a rain free period. Some are white, others are pale purple, some are deep purple. More clusters of snowdrops are appearing. The early clusters of daffodil leaves are growing but no flowers yet. We get the daffodils in stages. The ones with brighter yellow flowers come up first, and the ones with very pale yellow flowers emerge a few weeks later. It's nice to finally see more signs of spring greenery in the yard. The migrating birds are on the move. The juncos are leaving us to head back north to New England and Canada.
