The Jersey shore area is getting battered. They have around two feet of snow with nasty wind gusts. Several counties have power failure problems which started last night. Last night I ordered a repeat buy item from a local Amazon wearhouse that normally gets delivered the next day, but Amazon isn't sending their delivery trucks back out until Thursday. With all this snow it is going to take several days to get things functional again.
I suspect the schools will be on remote learning until mid-week and won't open up for in-person classes again until Wednesday or Thursday.
Instead of buying a snow blower the next door neighbors whose driveway is right next to the property line with us are now getting their driveway plowed and it was plowed out before dawn this morning, the noise of it woke me up.
my mother had terrible asthma many trips to er, but as she got older seems not to bother her as much
Allergies and allergic asthma run in the family. When I was a small child it was bitter cold windy air that could trigger an asthma attack for me. I had monthly allergy shots my entire childhood. For the most part my asthma is stable with me only needing my inhaler from time to time. I can get winded more easily though. But it's when I develop a respiratory infection that my asthma runs into trouble and my lungs become vulnerable to bronchitis which puts me at risk for potential pneumonia. There are a lot of nasty viruses around this winter including ones causing more bouts of bronchitis and pneumonia all around the state. Several southern NJ counties also have rather high rates of norovirus, so you have people struggling with vomiting and diarrhea in addition to having hacking-cough infections, an hour south of me. Unfortunately it's a perfect storm of miserable illnesses this winter. It's been a miserable winter in general between the illnesses in circulation, too much artic air, snow storms that turn into bomb cyclone nor'easters. I want spring to arrive already!!!
