It was -1 here this morning. The coldest town in NJ was -6 this morning, New Brunswick, in central Jersey. The warmest low temperature this morning was 12 in Wildwood at the Jersey shore. It's sunny and well into the 20s. Overnight tonight it's supposed to go down to 9 degrees. This arctic air isn't expected to leave until the middle of February, although they're thinking we will get a few days above freezing into the mid 30s.
The air is not only cold but also very dry indoors and outside. The cat's fur is all filled with static. I get little electric shocks every time I pet him. Even completely indoors northern cats can grow a thicker winter coat. Nigel has the softest fur this time of year.
Obviously I am not going anywhere on the weekends either, I wouldn't want to have difficulty getting Uber rides home from someplace in this weather. On the weekdays it's essential travel only. It's definitely not weather for walking around downtown or venturing to the library on foot either. It's a pain because I would like to get over to the larger Michaels crafts store and to Kohl's both on the southern edge of town.
I am so tired of this winter!
