When I got up to go the bathroom in the middle of the night we had loud intense winds for some reason. But it was higher up, not close to the ground so they didn't slam against the house. Yesterday's rain was just a few hours of light showers from late afternoon into early evening. Just a gentle rain. The state is still in drought so every bit of rain helps.
If the winds stay light this afternoon I can do some more leaf raking. At this point almost all the deciduous trees are bare with the last of the leaves ready to fall. Thank goodness for our evergreen trees and shrubs which make the yards look less winter bleak looking.
My sister here has picked up a cold, so I am trying to avoid her. I watched very little tv last night because she came home early. Even though we sit on opposite sides of the living room to watch tv she doesn't always cover her mouth when she coughs. She has poor hygiene to avoid spreading her germs, leaves used tissues on the couch, puts the tv remote by the used tissues, doesn't wash her hands after blowing her nose before touching common surfaces. She's 63 years old and hasn't learned a darn thing, and you'd think she would know better by now considering the whole pandemic! I'll disinfect the tv remote and such after she goes out. Having asthma that puts me at such high risk for secondary bacterial lung infections if I pick up a cold or something is just awful to live with. Being immunocompromised sucks. I'm already trying to recover from a sinus infection. I like the Thursday evening tv shows on CBS so I will have to mask up if she comes home early evening and parks herself on the living room couch. It's terrible with the cold snap the number of winter respiratory viruses has skyrocketed around the country.
