My grocery order will be delivered in a while. I ordered a bunch of cups of yogurt and a bottle of prune juice along with the usual items. My digestive system is better but not normal for me yet.
The problem is I'm not getting my steps in because, no car. The sidewalks are uneven and my neighborhood is hilly, so where I live is not the best for walking for exercise when you have aggressive arthritis using a cane and ankle brace. I was used to driving places multiple times a week, bunching up errands so I was going to 2-4 places every time I went out. Parking at the further end of the parking lots and getting more steps in walking on the level floors of the supermarkets, the craft stores, Home Depot, Petco, Barnes and Noble, Target, Kohl's, occasionally Ikea and such. My orthopedists are located in a shopping mecca town with lots of malls and shopping centers, plus I always stopped by the big new ShopRite that sells the tasty heat and eat veggie egg rolls on the way home from doctor appointments. Getting rest breaks while I drove between locations. No car means I am forced into a sedentary lifestyle with just the 'housework workout' and yardwork for exercise, and just doing door to door with one of the rideshares and I can only focus on going to a single location with a backpack in tow then go home for the day. It's incredibly dull and boring. This is bad for my arthritis. It's not good for my IBS at all. I'm having to cut down on what I eat and how much I can eat because of my digestive system plus to avoid weight gain.
I will get in some steps walking to Walgreens later to pick up my prescription, but that's just a getting in my steps solution for today only. My downtown shopping district is just mainly businesses offering random uninteresting things, plus pricey restaurants and take out places, Dunkin Donuts, 7-11, gas stations, a couple of banks that aren't my bank, hair and nail salons, lawyers and accountants, and the laundromat close by. Nothing exciting to see or do there. The library three blocks away is still closed down for repairs and renovations with no reopening date in sight.
