Birthdays for loved ones who have passed are always a bit hard. Tomorrow would have been my oldest sister's 71st birthday.
I'm placing my grocery delivery order later tonight. Hopefully I can get a delivery slot for tomorrow. I'm keeping an eye out on the Amazon deals with the varieties of Hint water since Prime Days are October 7th and 8th but they already have preview deals. Soon I'll need to order the cat's dry food from Petco's website. I'll have to order two bags to qualify for free shipping.
This whole car situation is a stupid, petty, unnecessary mess. I don't know how I'm going to be able to keep up with my medical care long-term. I'm not going to be able to see the doctors I need to and have more tests easily run. Some of the different types of specialists who take my HMO simply aren't close by. I'm supposed to be going to get a custom ankle brace over in the other county and still need to buy a pair of glasses with the updated prescription. My HMO will now only pay for basic frames, not the lenses, so buying them through the optical department at my eye doctors' would cost more vs looking for better deals at the discount eye wear places and I need to budget that in. But now I can't easily check out the different places in the area. Uber and Lyft are expensive. I'm sure local traditional taxi services aren't any cheaper. It's a logistics and financial nightmare. She has no buyer for the car. The person who was looking to buy a classic car nearly two years ago and was interested in the Corolla at this point surely bought something else by now. The car is just sitting in the driveway idle. Since I'm not feeding my sister anymore she's still eating peanut butter with a spoon for her dinner and she had a bag of potato chips last night. The other night my sister from Virginia and I were talking on the phone about families we know where the siblings are kind and supportive to each other and yeah, why can't it work that way with our family.
I put the heat on last night. It stayed in the low 50s but felt too chilly in the house since yesterday's high was just in the mid 60s. It's sunny, in the upper 60s now heading to the low 70s. Tomorrow the warmer weather returns in earnest. Highs in the low 80s. Lows around 60 degrees. Tomorrow the hibiscus can be moved back to the front yard. It's really thriving and is a beautiful plant.
There is still no rain in the forecast until maybe next Wednesday so the drought continues with no relief. Daily plant watering for the foreseeable future. Unfortunately the squirrels are ripping up the planter with the petunias. Who knows why with them.
I still have to have a late lunch and my focus today is some reorganizing and autumn cleaning.
