My rheumatologist isn't currently planning on running more tests unfortunately. She thinks it's something in the process of emerging. But the high IgG4 test result is concerning though. It can be caused by various disorders, but there's an autoimmune illness called IgG4 RD that can cause organ damage, especially to the pancreas so I'll need to find an immunologist for further testing. I'll have to make an appointment to see my primary care doc later this month, ask if I should have a CT scan of my torso to make sure I don't have inflammation in my organs. It's hard to know since I always have discomfort due to chronic digestive tract issues plus chest wall inflammation. IgG4 can also cause dry eye and dry mouth problems by attacking the salivary and lacrimal glands and I have the badly dry eye and dry mouth problems. For some reason rheumatologists here are very reluctant to do comprehensive bloodwork to test for a wide variety of conditions. There isn't always follow-up after tests come up abnormal to find actual answers. It's very frustrating. I read online about various types of additional blood tests rheumatologists can order, but nope the ones here won't run these tests. That's why I need to try an immunologist. It's also annoying the ear/nose/throat doctor who did the lip biopsy has zero interest in doing follow up testing.
I see the retina specialist next week and the dry eye specialist next month. I'll have to ask them about which tests are done in regards to dry eye issues and ruling IgG4 RD in or out as a cause.
Today is an appointment free day but I should run to the store in a while for a few things. We need more fresh fruit and tomatoes.
