It was chilly last night, down into the mid 50s. It's sunny and in the mid 70s now. With the nights getting cooler I'm feeling the effects with the arthritis in my hands, knees, ankles. The joints are getting stiffer and more achy. There were a few big clouds with grey undersides yesterday afternoon as I drove to the supermarket but only five drops of drizzle fell on the car's front windshield. No rain in the forecast until late next week, so I'll water the plants yet again in a while.
Between the temperatures cooling and the drought some trees and shrubs around the area already have a few leaves on them turning colors. When I was driving home from the supermarket yesterday I noticed a couple of trees where all the leaves were getting an orange tinge to them as I drove past the high school. School starts on Tuesday so autumn is on the way. The supermarket was selling mums and echinacia plants, decorative pumpkins and gourds. There were boxes of pumpkin spiced cereals. I'm waiting for Sweet Baby Rays to start selling their maple flavored barbecue sauce again. I want to pick up several bottles when it comes out.
It's a home day until I go to the laundromat after dinner. I'm just relaxing enjoying the quiet and just need to sort out the laundry. Tomorrow my one sister will come back from her pet sitting and the other will come retrieve her cat.
