In a couple of minutes I'll head out to run yesterday's errands now that all the school traffic is gone. I got nowhere yesterday since the crazy neighbors were threatening to have at it with damaging the shrubs on our lawn near the property line. Nothing angers them like our lilac bushes going into bloom every spring. The husband is tall with long arms and he'll stand on the property line or on the corner where the sidewalk meets the corner of his driveway and use a long electric hedge trimmer to intentionally damage the lilacs. A couple of years ago he chopped off the top third of one of rose bushes that is closer to the front of our house but three feet into our lawn from the property line. There is definitely serious underlying rage issues with him.
He started this nonsense yesterday just as I was starting the car to leave so I sat in the car for over an hour killing time on my phone news scrolling and such just to keep watch to prevent him from mauling the larger of the lilac bushes pair.
His big loud SUV rumbled down the driveway and left a while ago. He must be working this evening so I can run errands in peace since even if the wife is home she doesn't seem to ever use power tools. They are just miserable people. Weird control freaks. The wife is a real estate agent who sells houses in a different county and thinks she has the right to decide who can live in our neighborhood and what people can have.
I did manage to cut some branches off that fallen tree limb in the backyard yesterday at dinnertime after the weirdos quit their nonsense. I'll have to finish tomorrow before the rain comes tomorrow night. I also need to touch up that paint.
This is why I think the young people who are all for urbanizing the suburbs and cramming more houses into residential neighborhoods are out of their minds. High population density means dealing with more people's weirdness. Too many awful people out there. Before them we had a different neighbor up the block playing the busybody but he was very tame compared to what we deal with now. Now I understand why people prefer to live on an acre or two of land with neighbors at a distance if they can afford it. Less drama that way.
