The white throated sparrows are back and are currently hanging out in the shrubs outside my windows singing their songs. More trees and shrubs are blooming so it looks like early spring even though it feels more like late winter.
Heidi, sometimes you just have to stick your fingers into the skein to try to find the end tail even though you may not succeed. With Red Heart the tail end is usually on the right side of the skein when you're looking at the front of the label, unless they're screwing this up when the put the labels on some of the variegated yarns. I bought a couple of ombre skeins recently and haven't had any issues. I haven't bought any of the variegated Red Heart recently though because I have a few skeins of Joann's house brand yarn in variegated color schemes. All the Joann's locations close for good by mid-May so I'm planning to go back to Joann's in another week or so since they're restocking like crazy to empty out their warehouses and are getting deliveries daily. When I go to Michael's I'll take a look at their Red Heart variegated yarns and see if the center tails are sticking out.
Generally the big name brand yarns are made in Turkey and India so the prices will rise in the coming months with the tarrifs as soon as existing inventory sells out and the newly imported shipments start coming in. So it's time to stock up on yarn colors that appeal. That Mexican brand of women's undergarments who sells on Amazon whose slip shorts I like to wear under skirts and dresses during the summer- the price has currently increased by $3 per pair. If the trade war escalates the price will keep going up. I have three pairs of their comfy slip shorts and wanted to buy a couple more so it'll cost me extra.
