My doctor prescribed another week's worth of antibiotics yesterday since I run out of the first prescription's worth of pills after tomorrow morning's dose. I still need to pick up the new bottle from the pharmacy. After yesterday's doctor appointment and grocery shopping I was tired, came straight back home and took a nap. It's been a week now and this cold is very slow at breaking. My sister is still coughing and sneezing as well. This is some bug that is going around. A friend of mine has been battling bronchitis for weeks now from some virus she picked up. She's on high dose antibiotics too plus prednisone. It's rough in the winters with the respiratory illnesses.
Just light housework today and a trip to Walgreens and that's all I feel up to today.
Amazon has their spring sale and it includes the hint water so I ordered a case of the grape flavor and one of the apple. Each one's sale price was nearly half off and they were delivered this afternoon. It's not easy getting the apple flavor in the supermarkets these days for some reason. Since the grape is a newer flavor it's very hit or miss finding it in the stores. I like sticking the bottles on the freezer door for a while until they start to ice up. The hint water tastes good super cold. It feels refreshing for dry and scratchy throats when you're battling a respiratory infection or allergies.
I also got my set of Boye tapered crochet hooks from Amazon today. I want to compare how using a tapered size I/9 hook works up for that granny squares yarn versus my inline Susan Bates hooks, since each style of crochet hook can effect stitch shape and tension. I definitely want to use both the shades of red with black, and the shades of blue with black 1970s color scheme yarns for my afghan project. I want to alternate between panels made with the two color sets of squares and panels of solid color yarn in one the Tunisian crochet stitches. Probably using black yarn since the outermost round of the granny squares have black yarn. I have a crochet stitches and techniques book I bought back in the early 1990s that has some instructions on Tunisian crochet with some stitch patterns. It's been years since I've done Tunisian crochet. Back then it was more commonly called afghan crochet. I also have my eye on a couple of newer Tunisian crochet instruction books that come with a wide variety of stitching techniques. When I can get to the bookstore I'll have to see which ones they carry and pick one.
