It's been in the 50s during the days and 40s at night. I was going to put the basement plants back outside, but we're due for another cold snap starting Sunday with highs in the 30s and overnight lows in the upper teens to low 20s for early next week. So they'll have to stay put in the basement at least for another week.


I've just been getting things organized around the house. We're due for showers tomorrow morning but they should clear out in the afternoon so I will probably do some laundry then. There are blankets, bedding, and towels to go since last Saturday I just washed clothing

My phone's picture app sent me one of those 'memories' reminders today featuring photos of snowdrops on our front lawn that I had taken pictures of this time last year. No snowdrops yet this year. This time last year crocuses were already popping out.

I had completely forgotten today was Ash Wednesday.

Heidi, what's happening with your daughter's fingers? Is she dealing with nasty arthritis?

I'm thinking Friday is the best day to go to Joann's. No rain showers then. My sister will send me pictures of yarn she wants me to keep an eye out for, for a project she's now working on. She's knitting a faire isle pattern using a couple of earth tone colors of Lion brand yarn. I'm more focused on crocheting and want to play around with different types of granny square patterns so I'm into colorful acrylic worsted weight yarns. But I want to get back into knitted lacework using soft baby weight yarns. I have a skein of white baby weight yarn, but am interested in the pastel colors. In the past I had knitted a scarf for myself using the slightly chunkier and curly Lion homespun yarn and found it easy to knit with, so I will also look for that too. I will be sorry to see Joann's shut down this spring.
