The problem with Kohl's is the CEO who took over in late 2019 wanted to take the store in a new direction and set those changes up while everyone was stuck home in lockdown during 2020. When the stores opened back up again some of the women's clothing lines were gone- Chaps, Elle, Dana Buchman, Jennifer Lopez, Apt. 9. The women's clothing sections were cut back and too much room was dedicated to Levi's jeans and Under Armour sports clothes. The Juniors section was enlarged. A lot of clothing was made available on the website but not in the stores. The petites section shrank, than disappeared. Petite clothing is currently only available on the website, which is ridiculously stupid.
They replaced a handful of dedicated clothing lines for women of all ages with youth oriented lines like Draper James.
Currently the stores have a limited selection of regular dresses and skirts from Croft and Barrow and a few Sonoma sweater dresses. I bought several of the Croft and Barrow dresses plus the one pleated midi skirt they offer. It's navy blue with a light blue print. The dresses are definitely more autumn/spring weight fabric for the northern states. It's too cold to wear them now up here. The skirt would be fine paired with a half slip and winter leggings or warm tights.
They still have a lot of cocktail type party dresses left over from the holidays. They're selling those London Times daytime dresses you can also find at J.C. Penny but I'm not impressed with them. I tried on one of them last summer and the dress was see-through. You'd need to wear a full slip underneath it.
Hopefully the brand new CEO will course correct and undo some of the changes made by the last CEO since long-time customers are complaining.
