It's sunny and due to get up into the mid 80s this afternoon. A high pressure system pushed the rain out to eastern Long Island so it's been dry here. No rain for nearly two weeks now. I'll water all the outdoor plants later this afternoon. We may get showers tomorrow. Otherwise the next chance of rain won't happen until the middle of next week. I'm curious to hear the updated weekly drought watch info on the news later. The soil here is getting very dry.

My sister from VA left yesterday evening with her cat so it is quiet in the house today. Our cat has been by my side all day, missing his buddy for sure. My other sister came by for a short time last night to retrieve her suitcase. I filled her in on the latest with our sister but she just listened and said nothing. They haven't spoken to each other nor have they seen each other since our mom's funeral back in February. This all stems from arguments they had last fall I didn't witness. It's just so surreal being stuck as the go-between since they still aren't on speaking terms.

Since it's been busy recently plus I did yardwork yesterday and need to rest my ankles today it's just a home day with the basic chores. I'm also going to spend some time reading a mystery novel I started last weekend as well. I need to rest up my legs for the weekend's work- mowing the lawn and weed pulling, running errands, a trip to the laundromat, sorting the recycling and getting it boxed up in the hall for the Tuesday pickup. Everything needs to get done between tomorrow and Sunday. Next Monday needs to be a quiet resting day since I'm off to see the podiatrist on Tuesday to see what he says about an ankle brace for the worse leg and talk to him about how to word a new updated request for MRIs of my feet with my HMO in order to get them approved. I'm hoping an ankle brace, steroid injections, and PT helps and I won't wind up needing to have surgery at this point. Stupid arthritis is causing too much damage.
