Our taste of fall is also over. It's supposed to hit 88 this afternoon. It's sunny and the humidity is reasonable but that's supposed to increase starting tomorrow. It's supposed to be hot today through Wednesday with temps in the upper 80s to low 90s, then cool back down to the low 80s starting Thursday.

I got the last of the wet heavy dirt out of the plastic big tub planter on the lawn with the clogged up drainage holes yesterday. The plant that was in there had its roots burrow through the holes into the ground below. It totally gunked up the works and the plant itself died. I have to clean out the holes and drill a few more since there aren't as many drainage holes as there should be for a container that size. It will need fresh soil and I'll buy a mum to plant in it for some autumn color. I have another planter that drains just fine but has heavily compacted root-bound soil that is much more stubborn to empty. Maybe I'll just buy an autumn container plant to sit on top of the soil in that one for the time being. The squirrels are pooping on the poor car from feasting on the acorns on the driveway oak tree so I had to clean the car yesterday as well. It's navy blue so yellow acorn poop sticks out like a sore thumb.

This afternoon I need to pick up a few things at stores here and there. The recycling needs to be sorted later to put out tomorrow evening.
