The supermarket chain I shopped at yesterday jacked up their prices again compared to my last weekly grocery shopping trip. The cost of the pet stuff is frustrating. A little over a week ago I bought a three pound bag of Temptations dried cat food for the neighborhood cats and it cost about $4. Yesterday all the basic dry cat food brands except for the Friskies are now just under $7 for the three pound bags. I bought a bag of the Friskies. A 15 pound bag of cat litter now costs $20. I just bought pet stuff, a half gallon of milk and a fruit punch, simple lunch and dinner things for me for a week, a box of store brand wastebasket sized trash bags, plus an ice cream and a four pack of raspberry donuts from their bakery department for deserts and it cost $115. Fortunately I still have breakfast cereal so I didn't need to buy more. Just three bags of basic groceries for me and the pets. The cost was ridiculous. I'm tired of greedflation.
I should run to the Home Depot later for a medium sized moving box to corral the miscellaneous stuff sitting stacked in bags for the yard sale we're doing with friends at their house once the weather cools a little. Still no idea when they're thinking of doing the sale. It's very unorganized just sitting in plastic bags (mostly clothing) all stacked on top of each other in the corner of the front hall and the disorganization is driving me nuts. My sister was supposed to drop off shipping boxes from her housemate who buys a lot of stuff online, including ordering stuff for her dogs from Chewy. But she hasn't been buying so much online lately, she's been shopping in person instead. So no boxes.
The autumn preview weather we've had is also a reminder all too soon it will be time to start pulling out some cooler weather clothing and to pack some of the very summery things like sun dresses away for the season.
