I went to the Home Depot yesterday afternoon and they were finishing up drying the floors. It's a good thing their floors are cement. It makes cleanup and dry time faster. They were running a bunch of floor fans scattered around the store to help with the drying in spots. Flood water got in through the front and back doors Sunday night. It didn't slow down business any. The place was packed as usual.
We did have some rain around dinnertime but not enough to cause further problems. It must have gone down to the upper 50s overnight. It was only 62 when I checked the temperature this morning at 9 am. It's supposed to only go up into the low 70s this afternoon and the mid 70s tomorrow and Thursday. The heat comes back next week with temps near 90 by Monday. Overnight lows will be in the mid to upper 50s for the next few nights. A fall weather preview. I felt chilly last night. I'll need to put a warmer blanket on the bed. I have the windows open. I'll have to shut them overnights then open again in the mornings. I spent part of the early evening yesterday on the phone with my sister in Virginia. They had some rain but nothing like the mess up here.
Just taking care of things around the house today. Plenty of tasks to do in the house plus some yardwork. Tomorrow is the yard waste pickup so I should sweep up the twigs from the weekend rain storms. Since had just very heavy rain but no strong wind gusts no larger branches snapped from the trees fortunately. There are also acorn leavings to sweep up since the squirrels are going to town eating them. I should sort the laundry to take to the laundromat tomorrow. My sister will be by later either in the afternoon or evening since she didn't get by here on Sunday.
