With the stuffy weather the cats are doing a lot of napping on the floor. Except for in the kitchen, bathroom, and sunroom the floors are all wooden parquet so it's cooler for them to stretch out on. I have a table top fan in the living room aimed at the sofa so sometimes the cats will sit on the sofa in the evening in front of the fan.
It's a home day for me. I'm tired so it's a light housework day. We already have a flood watch in place and I'm getting notifications on my cell phone since we're due for heavy rain later. It's in the low 90s again so this is day 5 of our fourth heatwave. Supposedly it will be cooler tomorrow, but humid with rain showers. They're talking about us potentially getting more heavy rain later in the week from the remnants of tropical storm Debby. I hope not since I wanted to stop by Kohl's then and check out the sales and drop by Staples for some cardboard document storage boxes. I'm still dealing with all that family paperwork in the dining room that needs proper sorting. So much paperwork. What worse is there is a filing cabinet in the sunroom that
is filled with outdated paperwork that belonged to my oldest sister who passed away 20 years ago, that all needs to be shredded. Unfortunately my mom got stuck with all that now useless paperwork and never bothered to destroy it. So I have to.
I'm looking forward to nights when the temps go down into the 60s but wish the high humidity would quit. I have a digital temperature and humidity gage in the living room and most nights lately the nighttime humidity in the house is in the upper 60s to mid 70s and the temperature in the living room stays in the low 80s. It's more stuffy on the second floor even with windows open 24/7 so I spend little time upstairs these days. If the high humidity would quit maybe I wouldn't be so tired all the time and I could catch up on dealing with the daunting paperwork.
